Trade Secretary graces 6th Regional Competitiveness Summit
Secretary Ramon Lopez at the 6th Regional Competitiveness Summit as he deliver his keynote message on "Building Local Competitiveness and Ease of Doing Business."
This is an effort to recognize the most competitive cities and municipalities for 2018, the Department of Trade and Industry through the Competitiveness Bureau holds the 6th Regional Competitiveness Summit that will highlight the results of the Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI) 2018, which targets to rank over 1,500 local government units across the Country.
The Secretary highlighted that through the CMCI, we have established that there were over 1.8 Million approved business registrations nationwide in 2017. This is more than double than the 2016 List of Establishments of the Philippine Statics Authority.
Ultimately, the Secretary challenged all our local chief executives to reinvent their ways of delivering government service and urged all LGUs to level up the competitiveness of their localities to attract more investments and to create more jobs for the Filipino people.
Present also at the event are DTI Undersecretary Rowel S. Barba, DTI Undersecretary Nora Kakilala Terrado, DPWH Undersecretary Maria Catalina Cabral, DTI Asec. Mary Jean Pacheco, DTI Asec. Demphna Du-Naga, DTI Asec. Ameenah Fajardo, H.E. David Strachan, Mr. Guillermo Luz, Atty. Adrian Cristobal among many others.
